Axious Removals

Tipper truck hire with driver in Cape Town

A tipper truck carries loose, heavy material and unloads it by tipping, with no shovelling at the other end. Hire a tipper with an experienced driver to cart away rubble or soil, or to deliver sand and stone exactly where you need it.

When you need a tipper

  • Removing builders' rubble, soil or old paving from a site
  • Delivering sand, stone or gravel that you've bought from a supplier
  • Moving loose material between sites, for example excavation spoil
  • Landscaping projects that need topsoil, compost or gravel moved in bulk

For furniture, boxes or anything that must stay dry, a closed truck or panel van is the better choice.

Choosing the right size

Tippers are usually described by their load volume in cubic metres (m³), for example a 6 m³ tipper. Loose material is heavy, though, and a tipper can reach its legal payload (weight limit) before the body is full. Wet sand and broken concrete are especially dense. Tell us:

  1. What the material is: sand, stone, soil, rubble or a mix
  2. Roughly how much in cubic metres, tonnes or bags, or send photos
  3. Where it must be loaded and tipped

We'll recommend a vehicle that carries the load safely and legally. Each vehicle listing shows payload and volume separately.

Where a tipper can tip

Tipping needs firm, level ground with enough space for the body to rise, and no overhead cables or branches. Soft lawns, steep driveways and pavements over services are not suitable. If the material has to go somewhere a tipper can't reach, we'll discuss options when we quote.

Loading

Rubble is loaded by hand or by machine, depending on the job. If you have a TLB or bobcat on site, mention it, because machine loading is much faster. If the rubble must be loaded by hand, tell us how far it is from the truck so the quote includes enough time or helpers.

Disposal

When we remove rubble or soil, it goes to an appropriate disposal or recycling facility. Disposal is often charged by weight. Clean rubble kept separate from household waste is usually simpler and cheaper to dispose of.

Where we work

We serve Cape Town and the wider Western Cape, including the West Coast and the Winelands. Jobs further from the metro may be priced on distance. See all service areas.

How tipper truck hire with driver is priced

Tipper hire is usually priced per load or by load size (for example a half or full load), with disposal fees added where material is taken away. Distance from the supplier or site, loading time and access can affect the price. Online figures are starting prices or estimates; your quote confirms the final amount.

Tipper truck hire with driver: common questions

How much does a tipper carry?

It depends on the vehicle's load volume and its legal payload. Dense material such as wet sand or concrete often reaches the weight limit before the body is full, so tell us what the material is and send photos if you can.

Can you tip the load exactly where I want it?

If the spot is firm, level and clear of overhead cables and branches, yes. Otherwise we'll agree the closest safe tipping point when we quote.

Do you load the rubble?

Loading by hand can be included. Tell us how much there is and how far it is from where the truck can stop. If you have a machine on site, loading is much quicker.
