Axious Removals

Rubble removal in Cape Town

Renovating, demolishing a wall or clearing a building site? We collect builders' rubble and renovation waste and take it to an appropriate disposal or recycling facility, so it stops blocking your driveway or site.

What we collect

  • Broken bricks, blocks and plaster
  • Concrete, screed and paving offcuts
  • Tiles, sanitaryware and other renovation waste
  • Soil and sand from excavations (tell us beforehand, it is heavy). For large volumes, see tipper truck hire

Mixed loads that contain general household waste, garden waste or hazardous items such as asbestos, paint, oil or chemicals need to be discussed first. Hazardous waste has to go to a specialised, licensed facility and is not collected with ordinary rubble.

Volume versus weight: why it matters

Rubble is dense. A cubic metre of mixed builders' rubble typically weighs well over a tonne, and wet soil or broken concrete can be heavier still. That means a truck can reach its legal weight limit long before its load bed looks full. When you describe your rubble, the most useful details are:

  1. What it is - bricks and concrete, soil, tiles, or a mix.
  2. Roughly how much - in bags, wheelbarrow loads or cubic metres, if you know.
  3. Photos - a couple of pictures let us size the job properly.

We use this to recommend the right vehicle and to avoid overloading, which is unsafe and illegal.

How collection works

  1. Send your details and photos using the quote form or WhatsApp.
  2. We confirm the vehicle, the price basis and an available collection window.
  3. On the day, the rubble is loaded (by our team if you have requested loading assistance) and transported for disposal.
  4. Disposal at a suitable facility is arranged as part of the job, with any disposal fees explained upfront in the quote.

Getting the site ready

Keep rubble in one accessible spot, close to where a truck can park, and keep it separate from household and garden waste. If the truck has to stop in the road, let us know about narrow streets, steep driveways, low overhead cables or restricted access so we can plan for it.

Where we work

We serve Cape Town and the wider Western Cape, including the West Coast: from the Southern Suburbs and Cape Town CBD to the Northern Suburbs (Bellville, Durbanville), the eastern suburbs (Blue Downs, Eersteriver), the West Coast towns (Table View & Blouberg, Langebaan, Malmesbury, Saldanha & Vredenburg), the Helderberg and the Winelands (Stellenbosch, Paarl, Wellington). Jobs further from the metro may be priced on distance. Your quote will show how. See all service areas.

How rubble removal is priced

Rubble removal is usually priced per load, based on the vehicle size, plus any disposal fees. The final price depends on the type and weight of material, how far it has to be carried to the truck and the collection address. Listed vehicle prices are starting prices or estimates; your quote is confirmed once we have seen the details.

Rubble removal: common questions

How much rubble fits in one load?

It depends on both the vehicle's load space and its legal payload. Rubble is heavy, so a truck often reaches its weight limit before it looks full. Send photos or an estimate in cubic metres and we will recommend the right vehicle.

Do I need to bag the rubble?

No. Loose rubble in one accessible pile is usually quickest to load. Bags are fine too, as long as they are not torn or overfilled.

Can you take asbestos, paint or chemicals?

No. Hazardous materials must be handled and disposed of by specialised, licensed contractors. Please keep them out of rubble loads.

Are disposal fees included?

Your quote will state clearly whether disposal fees are included or charged separately. Fees depend on the material and the facility used.
