Removals, truck hire & rubble removal in Tokai

Tokai sits at the foot of the Constantiaberg in the Southern Suburbs, next to Kirstenhof, Bergvliet and Steenberg. Most homes are on generous plots, many with gardens, pools and outbuildings, so renovations, extensions and garden makeovers are common. Those projects produce a steady flow of builders' rubble, old paving and garden refuse.

Jobs we often quote in Tokai

• Rubble removal from bathroom and kitchen renovations, extensions and demolished boundary walls
• Garden refuse and junk clear-outs: old furniture, garage clean-ups and estate clearances
• Furniture removals within Tokai and to other parts of the Southern Suburbs, the City Bowl or the Northern Suburbs
• Building material delivery: sand, stone and bricks for home projects

Access in Tokai

Many streets are quiet and tree-lined, which is good for loading, but overhanging branches can limit how close a high-sided truck or tipper can get. Several homes are in security complexes or behind electric gates with access rules for contractors. When you request a quote, tell us:

• whether the truck can reverse into the driveway or must stop in the road
• how far the rubble or furniture is from the street
• any complex rules on contractor hours or vehicle sizes

Pricing in Tokai

Tokai is within easy reach of the main routes through the Southern Suburbs, so standard local pricing usually applies. Rubble jobs are normally quoted per load, based on the vehicle and the type of material. Moves are usually hourly or fixed once we know the volume. See rubble removal and furniture removals for how each service is priced.

Good to know

Renovations in Tokai often happen in phases, such as a kitchen one month and a bathroom the next, so it can be cheaper to store rubble in one tidy pile and book a single full load rather than several small collections. If you're in a complex, ask your body corporate whether rubble may be kept on common property while you wait for collection. Garden refuse, such as branches, leaves and lawn cuttings, should be kept separate from builders' rubble, because the two often go to different disposal facilities. For moves, Tokai's quieter streets make weekday mornings a good time to load. Tell us if you're moving into or out of a complex with a narrow gate or a speed-hump-lined access road, as this affects which vehicle we send.
